Hi parents! Boy things have sure been crazy in 3rd grade! We are plugging right along and are almost 3/4 of the way through the school year!

Over the last couple of months the kids have been learning how to multiply and divide. They are doing so great! I am so proud of how far they’ve come since the beginning of the year!

This next week in math, we will be starting our fractions unit. This is a fun unit for all of us!!!! It is quite possibly the funnest unit of the year, because of all the hands on ways we can teach and learn. Please keep practicing those times tables facts at home, as this is a lifelong strategy they are learning! If they haven’t told you……each fact they pass off is part of an ice cream sundae! The kids are really excited about it and are working hard in school on those facts.

In Language arts we will be working again on main idea and supporting details. Our phonics target is contractions and compound words. Our spelling words for the week are:

birthday
sometimes
something
without
everything
shelter
layer
constant
colony
unexpected

The school spelling bee will be on March 26. You are welcome to practice at home. I am unable to attach a link or copy and paste the list, so if you would like me to send one, feel free to contact me via email or text. We will be having an in class spelling bee to determine the top three students to represent our class.

As always feel free to shoot me a text, email or drop in!
